Beginners' areas

Accessible to skiers of all abilities, the Sybelles® ski area has a wide range of pistes for beginners, with 37 green runs and 59 blue runs covering the entire area from the highest peaks. It’s a real playground for thrills and learning. The beginners’ areas are ideal for learning to ski in complete tranquillity. The ESF and ESI ski schools offer ski lessons in the various resorts in the area so you can make rapid progress with experienced instructors.

The Etoiles beginners' area

📍Le Corbier

The Etoiles beginners' area (no. 6 on the piste map) is signposted and completely safe. It consists of two covered carpets, the grande and petite Ourse carpets and the Berger ski lift. It is located just behind the Corbier Tourist Office.
Access is free.

📍Les Bottières

The secure beginners' area at Les Bottières consists of the Cabris ski lift (no. 18 on the piste map). Access is free.

📍Saint Jean d'Arves

The Saint Jean d'Arves beginners' area is signposted and located away from the flow of skiers. It is located at the bottom of the La Chal slopes and comprises the Baby Chal and Praz de Charvin lifts and a new covered carpet (numbers 22, 23 and 24 on the piste map). A ski pass is required for access.

📍Saint-Sorlin-d'Arves

The Saint Sorlin d'Arves beginners' area, located in the heart of the village, is signposted and completely safe. It consists of the Mollard carpet and ski lift, the Bobby carpet and ski lift and the Choucas ski lift (nos. 5, 3, 23, 11 and 4 on the piste map). At the top of the resort, in the Sybelles® district, a beginners' carpet is also accessible (no. 22 on the piste map - on the edge of the l'Orée des Pistes residence).

📍Saint Colomban des Villards

L'espace débutant sécurisé de Saint Colomban des Villards est composé d'un tapis débutant en libre accès (n°1 sur le plan des pistes), d'un téléski débutant, l'Epinette (n°2), et d'un border-kid accessible depuis le téléski de Rogemont (n°3).

Les Lutins gliss area is dedicated to learning to slide for young and old alike. Secure toboggan run with free access.

The beginner areas at Les Sybelles are designed especially for newcomers to the world of skiing. Located in the six resorts of Sybelles: Saint-Jean-d’Arves, Saint-Sorlin-d’Arves, Le Corbier, La Toussuire, Les Bottières, and Saint-Colomban-des-Villards. Accessible to skiers of all levels, the Les Sybelles® ski area has a very wide offer for beginners with 37 green slopes and 59 blue slopes.

Beginner Tracks

The Sybelles include slopes specially designed for beginners. These tracks are wide, soft and offer moderate slopes, allowing novices to gradually get used to skiing. Qualified instructors provide adapted courses, providing personalized advice for confident progress.

Accessible Treadmills and Ski Lifts

The beginner areas are equipped with treadmills, allowing beginners to climb smoothly without additional effort. Some also have adapted ski lifts, offering an accessible experience for the first ascents in altitude, with panoramic views as a bonus.

Ski Schools

Each resort of Les Sybelles is home to renowned ski schools, offering courses specially designed for beginners. Experienced instructors guide novices through the basics of skiing or snowboarding, focusing on technique, safety and the pleasure of skiing.

Play areas for children

The youngest skiers then discover the fun areas: fun courses, figures and special animations create a fun atmosphere, offering a joyful and safe first approach to skiing.

Equipment Rental

The resorts of Les Sybelles have equipment rental services suitable for beginners. Skis, snowboards, helmets and other accessories are available, making it easy to get started on the snow without having to invest in expensive equipment.
